How we make recipes
Every recipe here is a Cookt recipe: written by the Cookt team, for the Cookt app and for this site. A small set of editor's picks is read end to end by an editor before it is published.
What every recipe has to have
- An exact quantity for every ingredient, in grams, millilitres or spoons.
- Steps you can follow without guessing: heat levels, times, oven temperatures and what the food should look, smell or feel like when a step is done.
- A safe internal temperature wherever meat or poultry needs one, following the USDA safe minimum internal temperature chart.
- Nutrition per serving, labelled as an estimate. For some recipes it is worked out ingredient by ingredient from USDA FoodData Central, and each page says which.
- No brand names, no health claims and no promise that anything is free of an allergen.
Where AI comes in
AI tools help us draft, check and illustrate recipes, and every recipe is checked against the same rules before it goes up: food safety temperatures, allergens named, complete quantities and steps. Pictures marked "AI-generated illustration" are exactly that: drawn to match the recipe, not photographed. When we cook a recipe and photograph it, the photo replaces the illustration and the caption says so.
Who is the Cookt Kitchen?
"The Cookt Kitchen" is the byline for recipes written by the team behind the Cookt app at Kinori Labs. It is not a person, and it doesn't claim credentials it doesn't have.
Ratings and reviews
We don't show star ratings on a recipe until enough real Cookt users have rated it, and we never write, buy or filter them.
What we don't claim
Labels like "meatless" and "plant-based" describe the ingredient list only, so always check the packaging of what you buy.
