Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Kinori Labs ("we", "us") for your use of the Cookt app and this website. By creating an account or using Cookt, you agree to them.

1. The service

Cookt is a recipe manager for iPhone. It lets you save and organize recipes, import recipes from links, generate recipes from photos, ask an AI chef for help, plan meals, build shopping lists, and cook from a distraction-free view. Some features require a Cookt Pro subscription.

2. Your account

You sign in with your phone number. You are responsible for keeping access to that number and for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Cookt. If a phone number changes hands, contact us so we can protect the account.

3. Cookt Pro subscription

  • Cookt Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription, with a free trial for new subscribers. The current price for your region, and the length of the trial, are shown in the App Store before you subscribe.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. If you start a free trial, the subscription price is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone settings under Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

4. Your content

Recipes you save, photos you submit, and notes you write remain yours. You give us the limited rights needed to store and process that content to run the service, including sending photos and links to AI providers to generate recipes, as described in our privacy policy. Only submit content you have the right to use.

5. AI-generated content

Recipes and answers produced from links, photos, or chef questions are generated by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. Use your judgment on cooking times, temperatures, and food safety. If you have allergies or medical dietary needs, always check ingredients yourself; the AI chef takes your stated allergies into account, but it is not a guarantee and it is not medical advice.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Cookt for anything unlawful;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service;
  • resell, scrape, or bulk-extract the service or its output;
  • submit content that infringes someone else's rights.

7. Sharing in the community

Sharing is optional. If you set up a public profile or post, comment, like or follow, you agree to our Community Guidelines. When you post a recipe or photo you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to show it in Cookt and on its share pages until you withdraw it or delete your account. Only post recipes and photos you have the right to share, and credit recipes you imported. We may hide or remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break the guidelines. Other people's content is theirs, and we do not endorse it.

8. Changes to the service

We are always improving Cookt and may add, change, or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paid subscription includes, we will let you know.

9. Disclaimers

Cookt is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kinori Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Cookt. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

11. Termination

You can stop using Cookt and delete your account at any time in Profile > Delete account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as limitations of liability, survive it.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and flag the change in the app. Continuing to use Cookt after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Kinori Labs is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under the laws of your place of residence.
